Sometime today he was assigned to a family with a Ma and Pa and siblings. He and his new "family" will push a handcart filled with all their supplies across the "plains" of Virginia. Three and a half days out in the wilderness, walking 6-7 miles a day. I am pretty sure there is even going to be a river crossing. He will spend each night sleeping under the stars. Travis and I were originally going to be a Ma and Pa but it didn't work out with our schedules. I really hope we get another chance someday. I was totally bummed this morning when they all rolled out and I didn't get to go.

I told Allias three things before he left. 1st- the last time the leaders were up there scoping out the trail they saw a bear. 2nd- Friday it is supposed to be 96 degrees and HUMID and 3rd- bring honor to your name.I really do hope he has a great time and doesn't get eaten by a bear.
